My most recent podcast describes the steps of change and other tools to help you improve your chances of sticking to your New Year’s resolutions.
The stages of change include:
- Identifying the problem or what needs to be changed
- Preparation that includes a plan of action, resources that will support the desired change and a start date
- Implementing the plan on the start date
- Maintaining the change after it becomes a habit
- Relapse – being prepared for relapse because it is a normal part of the process of change.
